Homtom HT16, an ultra-cheap smartphone

It is not a secret, we like cheap phones as they come to break the myth that had been created that to have a smartphone, or as they would say our mothers or grandmothers to have Whatsapp, needed to spend several hundred euros. To continue breaking the belief analyze a very, very affordable mobile, the Homtom HT16.

For a long time the Chinese terminals were limited to copy the design of Apple, Samsung ... or chose flat designs, without any personality or hook that just met, fortunately things have changed.

The Homtom HT16 is a good example of this change in trend since, albeit with low cost materials without excessive fanfare, the design of this device attracts attention.

As for the election materials was plastic and glass rear to the front, without 2.5D. We can choose between three colors, white, black and blue nice, however, only apply to the back, since in all three variants the front is black.

Concerning the design, Homtom associates to summer and romanticism, perhaps pretentious, however what does seem clear is that it is intended for a young audience because it has a texture that gives a very informal touch, and also provides grip and nice touch, however regret that is not available in lighter colors where it would be more striking.

Finally I would like to stress that this is a device whose greatest asset is the design, well above its technical features that we will see just below.

As you can see it is not advanced hardware it is that with such a tight price was not expected anything else. Let's go over it piece by piece.

We start with the screen, 5 inches with IPS technology that gives a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The panel has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, that is HD. Thanks to Homtom has chosen 5 inches, the density of pixels per inch is maintained at a very high level.

We spent the SoC. The HT16 Homotom equips a Mediatek MT6580, quad-core processor to 1.3GHz and 32-bit architecture definitely a usual low range, as can be found in more than 80 Chinese smartphones, most of them below 100 €. The graph of this SoC is the Mali 400 archifamosa we saw in devices such renown as the Samsung Galaxy S3 and that still continues to appear in new terminals. We regret the lack of 4G connectivity.

The 1GB RAM stays, somewhat limited for the most active users but will not give problems if the use is not very intensive. The same goes for storage, 8GB is scarce but for many others, with the help of MicroSD, will not have many problems. As for the cameras, 8 and 5 megapixels meet conditions but at nightfall require the use of LED flash.

One of the biggest pluses of this device resides in the battery, which, with 3000mAh be more than able to overcome the day with moderate use, especially if we consider the size and resolution of the screen.

We ended up with, Android 6.0 software that comes in handy to Homtom HT16. Why do I say this? Because Android Marshmallow allows the SD send most of the applications and also with Doze get squeeze the battery and spend the night with little consumption.

Additionally, if you need to purchase the cellphone accessories, you could choose Banggood, which is one of the wholesale platform to provide you affordable prices, such as QCY Sport Bluetooth Headphone, Macaw T1000 Headphone, etc.
