Google executives hint that Google Home with a touch screen will be available soon

Last year it was reported that Google has been developing Google Home smart audio hardware equipped with a touchscreen. Amazon has launched a screen-equipped smart speaker Echo Show. The competition for smart speakers has fallen into a fierce price war, which seems to have become a consensus. However, Amazon Echo Show sold more than one million in 2017, once again people believe that the power of product innovation.

Google Senior Vice President Rishi Chandra revealed Google's smart home plan in an interview recently, basically confirming that Google Home with a touch screen will be present and will be launched soon. According to media reports, recently Google Senior Vice President Rishi Chandra disclosed Google's smart home program, saying that the smart speaker with a screen is an emerging product category and does not deny that Google intends to produce this type of product. This also means basically confirming that Google Home with a screen exists and is coming soon.

When asked if Google had partnered with manufacturers to launch screen-equipped smart speaker programs, Chandra said: "This is an emerging product category and I do not deny that we intend to produce." Chandra did not disclose other details or release date of the speaker, but he stressed that smart home products are crucial to Google. "We need to build a must-have product."

Strictly speaking, smart speaker products currently driven by Google Smart Assistant do not achieve this goal. Although they all provide useful features, they have not become products that people must use every day. Nowadays, we are so used to touch screen intelligent products, like the touch screen cell phone, touch screen tablet, and touch screen watch, and these are the products that we will use anytime and anywhere. Google's goal is to create smart audio products such as smart phones, Nest thermostats, and smartwatch.
